Exhibition entry requirements
You can enter up to FOUR framed paintings / drawings / original prints, plus one reserve,
up to TEN unframed mounted works for browser display – (original artwork, no reproductions).
unlimited cards, which must be sold for £2.50 per card. Exhibition fee flat £7.50 per artist
We hope that all submitted work will be hung but this cannot be guaranteed
Please find on here all the information needed to enter your paintings in our exhibition.
Important note. This Spring exhibition we will be accepting entries only via the Cirencester Art Society
website. For those unfamiliar or uncomfortable with such a process please rest assured, you can fill out the
attached forms and then give them to a committee member who with either assist you in entering them on
the website or will do that for you. Further, payments for the exhibition open on April 1st. Please do not
make your payment before that date.
A minimum guide price of £50 for framed/box canvas works is recommended.
Please note that 15% commission is payable on all sales of paintings.
Entry Fees
● Regular Framed Pictures (ready for hanging) approx. A4 size - £2.50 each
● Large Framed Pictures(ready for hanging) with largest external dimension no bigger than 26”- £5 each
● Extra Large framed picture with largest external dimension no more than 40” - £10. Only one per artist
● Unframed Pictures (suitable for a browser) £1.00 each or £5 for up to TEN entries
● Unmounted box canvas paintings (ready for hanging) will be classed as framed pictures.
Requirements
● Framed pictures must be clean, well presented and ready to hang (strung from side to side, using D rings – see guide at the end).
● The edges of box canvas paintings should be painted and neatly finished, rather than left rough.
● Large and extra large framed paintings external size 26” plus in either height or width, will require the artist to provide an easel.
● To submit unframed pictures, you must also submit at least ONE framed picture
● Unframed pictures must be mounted and wrapped in transparent film (not cling film).
● Cards should be individually labelled with Artist’s name wrapped in transparent film (not cling film) and displayed in a suitable container.
● We reserve the right to reject any picture with unsuitable framing, hanging, wrapping, or unsuitable content.
● NEW: THIS YEAR please note we will give you a pre printed label with your painting’s details at hand in.
● NEW: When bringing in a reserve painting after your painting has been sold, it is the artist’s responsibility to fill out the details on their record sheet within the A4 folder.
Dates/times for “Handing In” and Collection of Artwork: St John the Baptist Church, Market Square, Cirencester
● Entries to be handed in Friday 24th April 10.30 - 12.30
● Collection of unsold artworks and cards Tuesday 5th May 10.30 - 11.30
Stewarding Attending as a steward is a requirement on all exhibitors. Please include at least SIX stewarding date choices
on the entry form for you or your nominated cover (The nominated cover must be a member of CAS).
Conditions
● Insurance - please note that exhibitors are advised to insure their work for the duration of the exhibition, as neither
Cirencester Art Society, nor the owners of the exhibition venue will be held responsible for any loss or damage to
work and/or display stands submitted for the exhibition.
● Warranty/Indemnity - the Artist warrants that all paintings and other works listed herein for public exhibition or
otherwise are original works in which he/she has the sole legal copyright and which in no way breach the copyright
of any third party. Furthermore, the Artist agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Cirencester Art Society and
the Exhibition venue against any claim, damage or cost from any breach or alleged breach by the artist of the said
warranty, including any legal fees.
● Artwork sales will be by credit/debit cards or cash.

Attaching D-Rings for Exhibition Hanging
Fit two D-rings to the back of the frame or stretcher bars. Position them one-third down from the top, one on
each side. Attach securely with short screws, flat side against the frame.Add picture wire or hanging cord if
required, pulled taut with slight slack. Ensure fixings are secure, level, and hidden from the front.
Please note additionally. Clip (frameless) frames are not acceptable
Frames must be fully sealed with proper framing tape
