Tim Baynes - Demonstration

Tuesday 3rd February

Tim Baynes gave a wonderful demonstration. Showing our members two different methods of recording our beautiful surrounds.

The society members watched in fascination as, using both acrylics and a printing method, he created two beautiful images.

JANUARY 2026

The regular meet up at Watermoor Church Hall, on Tuesday mornings, is creative and fun. These are photos from recent meetings.

An enjoyable afternoon of Christmas Cheer! Held at Studio Liney. Participants enjoyed seasonal fair, mulled apple juice and great company. Home made cards were swapped.

TUESDAY ART GROUP

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY

An enjoyable Christmas Lunch was had at the Falcon in Poulton by members of the Tuesday Art Group.

December 2nd 2025

Cirencester Art Society enjoyed another wonderful demonstration. Jonathan Newey came and delivered a Line and Wash demonstration of a wintery scene, with a permanent ink drawing and watercolour.

A good crowd of Society Members and visitors enjoyed the evening, with Jonathan talking us through.

6th November 2025

Cirencester Art Society have a wonderful relationship with Raw Umber Studios in Stroud. The Society is invited annually, to a workshop with Lizet Dingemans. This is working from a Life Model. Each artist uses their preferred materials, to create their image, and Lizet offers advice throughout the day. Raw Umber Studios are kind enough to offer their studio facilities, and we have two models to work from, giving our members a unique opportunity to create work from a life model.

4th November 2025

Local artist, Simon Morriss, was the guest speaker at the November meeting. He gave a wonderful demonstration, using acrylic paints, on how he would paint a woodland scene. The audience enjoyed this inspiring demonstration while Simon gave a detailed description of his process.

24th October 2025

CAS was invited by the Cirencester History Festival to present an event to celebrate the centenary of JWM Turner.

We delivered a hands on event where festival attendees were able to understand and copy the special techniques of this remarkable artist.

A good time was enjoyed by all.

Carole Bury - Paper Textile Artist

We had a fascinating evening spent watching Carole Bury make beautiful folded paper works of art. She gave a snapshot of her career in art, which took us back to the 1980's of the London Art Scene. Her work is both beautiful and ephemeral, making you want to touch it!

On August 28th an amazing group of artists gathered together at Cirencester Church to to paint a beautiful model who was dressed head to toe in 1800’s attire.
